Gheringhap to Maroona

Down starter, and station
Once a rather quiet broad gauge line providing a link to the port of Geelong from the Western District, this line was regauged in the ’90s and become the main route between Melbourne and Adelaide. The line was originally opened in 1913. Broad gauge passenger services ceased on Jan 14 1952, although these days, the Overland to Adelaide uses this line.
