St Lawrence

St Lawrence became the railhead during construction of the line between Rockhampton and Mackay in June 1921. Once the line was connected between the two major centres in September of that year, an opening ceremony was performed by the Railways Minister in St Lawrence.

The station is still used by the Sunlander and Diesel Tilt train services for some reason.

I love the photos from Sainty. Spent many a times as a young boy travelling to St Lawrence on the train with dad who was a Guard at Mackay. Brings back many fond memories, great photos.
