Harristown is located in the southern part of Toowoomba, and was opened in 1915 when the direct connection to Wyreema was opened. It was closed in 1993.
Now that takes me back…Harristown was a top train spot in the early nineties, watching the shunt loco trying to get five or six fuel tankers into the Caltex siding on frosty rails (rolled in the 1870s) and listening to morning grain trains working flatout into the station from both directions…in those pre-coal days it was the best place to visit
